Le Plasterier of Chancery Lane was a maker of fine clocks. He produced a very fashionable and reliable selection , large and small . This is a good example of the 'Library clock' with a superb jewelled lever escapement and chain fusee with maintianing power . The silvered and well engraved dial , signed and showing roman numerals . Simple spade hands and sivered bevelled sight . The glass to both sides and the top is substantial with a good bevel , the front and back are flat . The case is ebonised Pear wood and in wonderful condition with a good 'patina' .

A classic French 'Boulle' mantel clock of 8 day duration , striking hourly and half hourly on a bell .The cartouch dial showing  blue Roman Numerals polished blued steel hands and a cast brass decorative bezel surround . The case is typical of Boulle work ,after Andre-Charles Boulle and has a good level of detail with the sides also being fully decorated , standing on 'C' scroll bracket feet a glazed aperture to view the sun-burst pendulum with a finial to finish . Made by Lay of 29 Passage Jouffroy , Paris around 1880 , Stamped and numbered. Elliot Mantel Clock

A good , small size, mahogany cased mantel clock by Elliot of England , with a high quality, week duration movement, pleasent bell strike on the hour and once for the half hour, full brass dial with engraved center , silvered chapter ring and gilded cherub head spandrels to the corners . English library /Carriage Timepiece

A unusually small library timepiece standing just over 6" Tall , the size makes this quite rare and is the smallest we have ever seen . The clock retains its original , jewelled , English lever escapement with a large balance wheel and timing screws .The chain 'fusee' movement has maintaining power and will run for a week on a wind . The case does not have an opening front door as the hands are to be protected and can be adjusted from the rear with the aid of a hand setting square it is constructed of Oak and veneered in satin Birch .The 3inch enamelled dial is in very good original condition and has the addition of a seconds dial at 12 o'clock. signed T.R.Walter and Son of City Road , London , E.C. who would have made this circa 1870-90.

J & L Rieder Library clock

A superb library clock of small proportions in Rosewood with a 4inch silvered dial , 3 substantial original bevelled glass panels with a flat glass to front and back door , a single fusee movement  of high quality which has been fully overhauled hand polished and regulated . This clock was made circa 1860 . The makers John and Lorenz Rieder ( & Co ) of Goswell Street , London are recorded working from 1857 to 1863 in B.Loomes - Watch and clockmakers of the World - Vol 2 . The height of this clock is only 22cms or just under 9inches , very small and very rare !

Miniature Grandfather Clock

This has to be seen to fully appreciate the small proportions and the superb detail in the construction of the case . A miniature longcase or 'Grandfather' clock that stands only 44.3 cms tall ( about 17 and a Half inches ). It has an engraved and silvered dial showing roman numerals , a brass bezel and bevelled glass . The case is veneered in a beautiful burr Elm with box wood line inlay and standing on taditional style bracket feet , the rear door opens to give access to the movement which is has jewelled lever escapement  , and the clock is wound through the dial , stamped Coventry . circa 1950 .

A fine marquetry inlaid rosewood mantel clock with very good colour and patina with small lenticel below the decorative handle to view the original silk suspension escapement , The 3"dial is slivered and has an engine turned decoration to the center with Roman numerals and the makers name stamped in .Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . A fine French 8 day movement striking on a Bell , polished blue steel Breguet Hands . Henry et cie Paris is recorded working in the early to mid 19th Century and this clock would date to circa 1850 . A rare French four glass or 'crystal regulator' , striking the hours and the half hours on a Bell. A perfect two section white enamel dial with Roman numerals and with the center of the dial showing the jewelled 'deadbeat' escapement . Bevelled glass to all sides with the regulator being a Ship's wheel on display instead of a pendulum . These clocks are extremely rare and this is the first we have had in 20 years ! A fine French 8 day movement and polished blue steel Breguet Hands. The movement is stamped by S.Marti et Cie , Bronze medal winner and working from 1863 to 1890 , this fine clock would have been made circa 1880 , standing 33cms Tall .Circa 1880 .

A superb French four glass , regulator clock, striking the hours and the half hours on a bell , a  two piece , white enamel dial with Roman numerals and with the center of the dial showing the jewelled 'deadbeat' escapement , bevelled glass all round and a large sealed mercury compensating pendulum. A fine French 8 day movement and polished blue steel Breguet Hands. The dial is signed by Leroy & Fils, 57 New Bond street and Palais Royal , Paris and  recorded working at this address circa 1885. Standing 11 and half inches tall .

Marine Chronometer

A superb cased marine chronometer with mahogany brass bound box with original lid and name plate , a silvered dial with the makers name , Heath & Co , Observatory works ,Crayford, London and numbered 2232-2248 on the dial and on the plate to the case .The dail also has the inscription 'Hezzanith' which was the name given to Heath & Co's Premium range of Nautical instruments and was a guarantee of quality , they also were appointed to the Lords commissioners to the Admiralty .The mahogany Chronometer box is brass bound with flush carry handles and Ivory name plate Key and lock . The Jewelled spring Detent escapement and movement is now fully overhauled and keeping very good time .
