A French mantel clock on a Marble base which has Ormalu decorations , the clock is of 8 day duration , striking hourly and half hourly on a bell with a white convex enamel dial showing arabic Numerals and garlands of flowers with finely pierced Gilded Brass Hands and a cast brass bezel surround . A small clock which would fit most mantels or perhaps even a 'Boudoir' ! .made in Paris around 1890

This clock has a very small "footprint" measuring 10cms deep , 18cms wide and 30cms to the tip . Paris circa 1890

An Oak mantel clock by the well known Clockmakers 'Lenkirch' of Germany . 8 day duration , striking hourly on a gong , at quarter past striking on two gongs , at half past agian two Gongs-twice , at a quarter too the hour giving three blows to the two gongs ,giving a pleasant 'Ting-Tang' or as the French would say - "Petite Sonnerie" . It is difficult to show the quality of this clock, but Lenzkirch were very well known for high quality Clocks. The full brass dial has polished blued steel Hands and a Cast brass sivered bezel surround , Silvered Chapter ring and polished Spandrels . The Oak case has cast brass decorations and rear locking door , Circa 1890

A very fine marquetry inlaid rosewood mantel clock of superb proportions, very good colour and patina with small lenticel below the decorative handle to view the original and highly unusual 'single Chaff cutter' escapement , The 3"dial is engine turned with engraved Roman numerals and has a correct number 4 not the usual four single lines but the IV , boxwood stringing to both sides of the case around the edge. A fine French 8 day movement striking on a Bell , polished blue steel Breguet Hands the back of the dial has a small stamp Bachot . Standing 24cms small ! (with Handle raised) . Circa 1840-50

A fine French mantel clock in the classic 'Louis' style  , decorated with ormulu mounts and having an enamel dial showing Roman and arabic numerals . A fine 8 day duration movement with striking on a mellow gong for the Hours and once for the Half hours . Made in Paris by A.D.Mougin circa 1895-1900 and bears his stamp on the backplate of the movement . This is a fine example and in very good condition.

A rare French four glass or 'crystal regulator' , striking the hours and the half hours on a Bell. A perfect two section white enamel dial with Roman numerals and with the center of the dial showing the jewelled 'deadbeat' escapement . Bevelled glass to all sides with the regulator being a Ship's wheel on display instead of a pendulum . These clocks are extremely rare and this is the first we have had in 20 years ! A fine French 8 day movement and polished blue steel Breguet Hands. The movement is stamped by S.Marti et Cie , Bronze medal winner and working from 1863 to 1890 , this fine clock would have been made circa 1880 , standing 33cms Tall .Circa 1880 .

A Superb French four glass , regulator clock, striking the hours and the half hours on a Bell, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and with the center of the dial showing the jewelled 'deadbeat' escapement , bevelled glass all round and a Large sealed mercury compensating pendulum. A fine French 8 day movement and polished blue steel Breguet Hands. The dial is signed by J.Smith of Kendal (although the name is slightly worn) he is recorded working from 1853 to 1879 , this fine clock would have been made circa 1870 standing 11 and half inches Tall .

The case has a wonderful Bronzed Cherub figure holding up the clock with one hand and his Drum stick in the other, made in Paris around 1890

A Superb French four glass , regulator clock, striking the hours and the half hours on a Bell, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and with the center of the dial showing the jewelled 'deadbeat' escapement , bevelled glass all round and a Large sealed mercury compensating pendulum. A fine French 8 day movement and polished blue steel Breguet Hands.The movement is stamped Leroy et Fil a Paris and Numbered 12843 . Charles Le Roy was the Master Clockmaker to Napolean & along with his son Charles-Louis were clockmaker’s to the Princess Pauline and the Duke de Bourbon. Examples of their work are in all the major collections as well in the Ministere de la Guerre, Paris. The Maison de Le Roy was founded in 1785 at Palais Royal & continued until the death of Charles at Versailles in 1865. , Standing 29cms Tall .
