The enamelled dial is signed Arthur Saunders of 3 Southampton Row , London . who is recorded working from 1849 . Arthur Saunder sold fine watches as well as good quality clocks from this prestigious address , this clock would date to around 1880-90 .The case has two doors - the side door held with a latch the convex bottom door held with a latch and Key .

The movement has been professionally overhauled and is stamped Gustav Becker with the number 365547 , it is an extremely good quality movement . Striking the hours and Half Hours on a Gong, it has a grid iron pendulum with an “R-A” Bob. in super condition for a clock made circa 1890 !

The enamelled dial is signed Camerer Cuss , 54-56 New Oxford Street , London . The Anglo-German clockmaking firm Camerer Kuss . The partnership was founded in Bloomsbury by two German immigrants in 1788. In 1867 the firm opened a retail outlet and workshop in New Oxford Street. The shop eventually had several branches, some of which specialised in selling jewellery. The flagship New Oxford Street shop closed in 1983. this clock would date to around 1890-1900 .The case has two doors - the side door held with a latch the convex bottom door held with a lock and Key.

A fine and rare, original British drop dial of extremely small proportions in a Mahogany case with carved scrolls and brackets , a square 4 pillar fusee movement of 8 day duration and the original - untouched painted iron dial , signed Lawler of Hertford . Ralph Lawler was born in 1851 in the town of Hertford , the door of this clock is also signed in Old ink July 2 . 87 Queen Victoria's Jubilee Year , which dates the clock rather well to exactly 1887. Fusee wall clocks of this size are now extremely rare .

A fine and early convex dial Verge Bezel wall clock with an 'A' shape fusee movement of 8 day duration . English Dial clocks of this age and quality are now extremely rare and collectable , this example is in very original condition and viewing is recommend . Please see the 'close up' pictures by clicking on the image , This clock is signed William Flint of Charing who was working from 1733 - 1795 and his son of the same name continued the business and moved to Ashford (not far from Charing) and worked until the 1850's . It is difficult to be exact , but we would say this clock dates from the early 1800's .
