4 Tier 'Whatnot' or Etagere

A good size, early Victorian 'Whatnot' circa 1840 in Mahogany with a single drawer below the first tier. Standing on fine brass castors and finished with turned orb finials above the fourth tier. This is a very elegant example, not to fussy and very useful for displaying small items ...especially clocks !

Rosewood Library Table - Ideal laptop or computer office desk

Here we have a fine Rosewood Library table with two drawers. Standing on finely carved cabriole legs with castors and a turned stretcher between.
A good size, would fit neatly behind a 3 seat sofa or against a wall. Alternatively this would make a very comfortable office desk . The drawer fronts are both sides, one side the drawers can be used, fully extended, the other side they are 'dummy' drawer fronts. This item does not include free delivery but can be collected in most estate cars.

A fine Danish mahogany side table circa 1880 (Christian IX) with a 'pie crust' edge or 'gadrooned' serpentine front and sides. Three useful drawers which can be locked. The top has a lovely patina and the grain is quarter book matched. Superb condition throughout standing on turned tapering legs with brass castors.

Tea Table

An unusual Tea table in an exotic wood similar to mahogany but slightly tighter grained, a wood called Bubinga. The wood is extremely popular with furniture makers and has been for over a century. The Bubinga tree is from the African continant and grows to over 100ft tall and can have a trunk 8ft in diameter! The logs which made this piece must have arrived back in the UK sometime in the 1840's as this piece dates to around that period.

A fine George III chest of graduated drawers of very small proportions in a well figured mahogany with brushing slide and attractive canted linen fold sides. The chest has been sympathetically restored and retains the original brass handles and individual locks for each drawer. The drawers are lined with Oak and it sits on bracket feet. A fine Regency period Sofa table with ebony line inlays into mahogany .This example has turned support pillars and elegant splayed legs finishing with Lion's paw casters . Serpentine front , chest of drawers .

A fine , late Victorian chest of graduated drawers by the well known furniture makers T.Knight and Sons of Bath who displayed furniture at the 1862 International Exhibition in South Kensington and responsible for furnishing the Grand Pump Room Hotel of Bath , Somerset . The chest has been sympathetically restored and retains the original brass handles and individual locks for each drawer . It is made from highly figured flame mahogany and sits on splayed feet . To truly appreciate this chest you must come and see it in our showrooms . Circa 1880-90 .
