The Sheraton Stick

Comitti remains the oldest traditional barometer maker in the world with a heritage that goes back to Evangelista Torricelli (1608-1647) who made the first mercury barometer in the 17th century. The Sheraton is an excellent example of the more traditional "stick" type instrument which is the style used for some of the very first barometers. Many of the instruments made in Comitti's London workshops have become established as English classics and today are sought after as valuable antiques. This superb presentation is a copy of an original made by Comitti in 1860, and features a mahogany cabinet with feathered veneer inlaid with "rope" edgeline and corner fans.

The Sheraton Banjo barometer is a great example of the very popular "banjo" type variation developed after the invention of the wheel barometer in 1665. Many of the instruments made in Comitti's London workshops have become established as English classics and today are sought after as valuable antiques. This excellent presentation is a Sheraton style aneroid barometer originally made by Comitti in 1890, featuring a solid mahogany case with curl veneer, marquetry shell inlaid edgelines.

The Regency Banjo

This superb example is a Regency style aneroid barometer with scroll pediment, circa 1830, and features a solid cherry case with burr walnut veneer and ebonised edgeline.

The Regency Banjo With Clock

This exquisite presentation is a Regency style aneroid barometer with scroll pediment, circa 1830, and features a hand polished inlaid burr walnut case along with an enamel dial quartz clock.

Bracket Barometer

The Bracket Barometer is an excellent example of a more simple wheel style instrument which matches Bracket clock model C036Q. This solid example is hand polished mahogany featuring an 8" diameter dial calibrated in inches and millibars complete with enamel finish.
