Wall Clocks

A fine and relatively early 12" Convex Dial,wall clock with 'drop' in a figured Mahogany case .A shaped shoulder 5 pillar twin fusee movement striking on a bell , 8 day duration , The Dial is signed Cotton , 90 Shoreditch , London, who is recorded working circa 1822. Ref Brittens , Old Clocks and Watches and their makers - with the original pair of 'moon' Hands . A very narrow wooden surround and a cast brass Bezel with convex glass . This is a fine example of a Drop Dial wall clock and has all the early features you would expect and the addition of a 'seat board' to take the weight of the substantial twin fusee , Viewing recommended but click to see close up pictures .
