A fine marquetry inlaid rosewood mantel clock of good colour and patina with small lenticel below the decorative handle to view the original silk suspension escapement. It has a large enamel dial with Roman numerals and moon hands. Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . A fine French 8 day movement striking on a bell. Leroy a Paris are recorded working in the early to mid 19th Century and this clock would date to circa 1860 .
