Howell & James , Boulle Clock

A fine French 'Boulle' mantel clock of good size and proportions by Howell and James of Regent street and retailer to the Queen ( Queen Victoria ) The twelve section cartouche dial showing Roman numerals and with the makers / retailers name on the 9 and 3 in very small black lettering , polished blued steel Hands and a Cast brass decorative bezel surround . The case is typical of Boulle work ,after Andre-Charles Boulle and has a good level of detail with the sides also being fully decorated , standing on 'C' scroll bracket feet a glazed aperture to view the sun-burst pendulum with a finial to finish . Made in Paris around 1880-90 Stamped and numbered. It is worth remembering that all our clocks have had a full dismantle / overhaul unlike many others for sale online and carry a full 12 month Guarantee in writing , which adds to the value and longevity of this fine clock .
