A detailed and fine , flame mahogany longcase clock with Walnut and Rosewood crossbanding , ebony line inlays with Burr Elm panels . The hood has full fluted columns with Brass capitals , the crossbanded and edged base has single plinth with Bracket feet . A very good example of Dundee cabinet making from the early Victorian period . The Painted dial is in near perfect condition and has a Lady playing a Harp to the Arch , the paintings are on Gold and silver leaf so they reflect back and light the dial . The movement is of good quality and strikes the Hour on a bell and runs for a week on a single wind . W.Young of Dundee is Listed in 'Old Scottish Clockmakers' by John Smith - working from 1805-43 in High street ,Dundee .
