A well proportioned flame Mahogany , ' strike-silent' longcase by Rivers &Sons , Cornhill , London . The classic London case with quarter fluted columns either side of the long arched trunk door.The base with a raised panel and classic London double plinth. The hood has a double arched with silk backed fret work and matching sound frets to the sides and fluted pillars with brass reeding . The full brass and enamelled dial signed with the makers name and the addition of , Successor to Daniel St' Leu , Watchmaker to her majesty. A large five knopped pillar movement with Brass cased weights and pendulum Bob , Striking the Hours on a Bell or silent at will . Listed in G.H.Ballie-Watch and clockmakers of the World , working from 1782-1815 .
