Mahogany Arch top, Rayment of Huntingdon

 

A well proportioned Mahogany Longcase with full brass dial featuring Strike / silent to the arch, superb engraving to all subsidiary dials , the original hands are typical of the period . Old Brass cased weights and a Brass Bob on the pendulum , 8 days duration , Signed (engraved ) John Rayment of Huntingdon -who was recorded working 1751 to 1795 in Watch and clock makers of the World by Baillie , this clock dates to around 1760 and is a very fine example of an Early Mahogany Longcase.
