Pringle of Dalkeith circa 1830

A superb flame mahogany Scottish longcase clock of 8 day duration , the Hood with the classic 'Broken arch' shape , the 12" painted dial features a calendar and seconds dial within the Roman numeral chapter ring , the movement is a good Scottish 8 day with Bell strike on the Hour a good flat brass rod pendulum and Bob . Thomas Pringle of Dalkeith is listed in 'Old Scottish Clockmakers 1453-1850' by John Smith as working from 1830 to 1836 ! only six years , after which his wife carried on the business .
