Margaine , Grande Sonnerie
A Large gilded , pinched corner , gorge case , Grande Sonnerie Carriage clock in very original condition with a large top glass to view the original Bi-metallic , split , jewelled lever escapement . Signed on the dial by the retailers A.Barrie , 4 George Street , Edinburgh - who were the retailers and recorded working from 1840 -1907. Gong striking on the Hour and with Grande Sonnerie you also have the quarter , half and three-quarter strike on two gongs ' ting- tang ' following the hour strike . If you prefer you can choose petite sonnerie or silent by simply switching a small lever to the base . The movement is completely original and will be dismantled , serviced , polished and regulated . A fine Grande Sonnnerie Carriage clock from this well known maker . It has bevelled glass , all of which are in superb condition . Circa 1895 .Shown unrestored
