Bracket Clocks

Edward Tutet , London , Bracket Clock .

36cm x 25cm x 18.5cm

A very original 'triple pad top' Bracket Clock of small proportions with strike-silent to arch. The clock has a fine quality verge escapement (original), 8 day fusee movement which has an engraved back-plate with pendulum and small verge 'bob'. The case is ebonised Pear wood. The full brass dial bears the cartouche of Edward Tutet, London who was made Master of the Clockmakers Company in 1786. This fine clock dates to around 1770. Finding exceptionally original verge escapement clocks is now quite difficult.
