An unusually small,library timepiece,standing just over 6" Tall , the size makes this quite rare and is the smallest we have ever seen . The clock retains its original , jewelled , English lever escapement with a large balance wheel and timing screws .The chain 'fusee' movement has maintaining power and will run for a week on a wind . The case does not have an opening front door as the hands are to be protected and can be adjusted from the rear with the aid of a hand setting square it is constructed of Oak and veneered in satin Birch .The 3inch enamelled dial is in very good original condition and has the addition of a seconds dial at 12 o'clock. signed T.R.Walter and Son of City Road , London , E.C. who would have made this circa 1870-90.
