A fine marquetry inlaid rosewood mantel clock with very good colour and patina with small lenticel below the decorative handle to view the original silk suspension escapement , The 3"dial is slivered and has an engine turned decoration to the center with Roman numerals and the makers name .Rosewood and Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . A fine French 8 day movement striking on a Bell , polished blued steel hands . Henry Marc of Paris is recorded working in the early to mid 19th Century and this clock would date to circa 1850 . Standing 25cms small ! (with Handle raised) 16cms wide and 14cms deep .
