Mantel Clocks

A very fine marquetry inlaid rosewood mantel clock of superb proportions, very good colour and patina with small lenticel below the decorative handle to view the original silk suspension escapement , The 3 inch dial is slivered and has an engine turned decoration to the center with Roman numerals for the chapter ring .Boxwood stringing to all sides of the case and floral marquetry inlays . A fine French 8 day movement striking on a Bell , polished blue steel Breguet Hands the back of the movement has a name stamp of Delolme and a Henry Delolme is recorded making and retailing clocks , watches and chronometers at 48 Rathbone Place , Oxford Street , London in the early 19th Century and exhibited in the 1851 Great exhibition . Standing 24cms small ! (with Handle raised) . Circa 1840-50
