A fine , well proportioned , flame Mahogany , Strike - silent Longcase by William Gill of Hastings . The Case has  a long arched trunk door , the base with panel and classic London double plinth , the Hood with fluted columns inlaid with brass , the superbly engraved brass and silvered dial engraved with the makers name subsidery seconds and Calendar, the Large five pillar movement with weights and Brass pendulum Bob , Striking the Hours on a tuned Bell or silent at will . Listed in Ballie-Watch and clockmakers of the World ,as working around in 1795 and he most probably worked 10 - 15 years before and after that single date . Standing 218cms Tall .
