Longcase Clocks

A slim solid oak Longcase clock by J.Green of Althorpe ( the resting place of Princess Diana ) circa 1720 . The full brass dial showing silvered Chapter ring with fleur de lys between the Roman numerals and quarter hour markers within , seconds and date aperture decorated with and engraved Basket of Plenty and ringed winding holes with a matted centre and Blued steel hands . The case is of good proportions being only 82 inches tall . The trunk door long and narrow with a brass Key escution . James Green is listed working from 1712 to 1736 in the book - G.H.Bailles - Watch and Clockmakers of the world .
