This fine Irish Longcase is extremely well proportioned and has the classic 'Broken Pediment' to the Hood with Ball finial to decorate and having fluted Columns with Corinthian capitals . A first period , Painted dial in Duck egg enamel with a well painted single Cartouche to the arch of Britannia with Putti (to see Macro images click here) and painted Spandrels either side , the four corners of the dial have the unusual and rare addition of commissioned Anchor Cartouche in Brass , beautifully made . The duration of the movement is 7 day , with bell strike on the Hour . a long trunk door with curl veneer also repeated on the Base , Circa 1795 .
