D.Callaghan of Cork 1858

A fine Oval Carriage clock in original condition with the Oval leather covered carry case (see macro images ). The movement is Bell striking on the hour and once for the half hour , the Platform escapement is the original and is working perfectly with a strong action , the polished case is of the earlier style with simple arched handle and Gorge shape base , the dial is signed by D.Callaghan of Cork and he is listed in the book of Watch and Clockmakers at 1858 . The clock would have been retailed through his establishment in France by one of the large carriage clock makers . This clock has been fully dismantled including the escapement and fully overhauled , Oiled and Tested and is sold with a 12 month R.T.B Guarantee .
