Bracket Clocks

 

William Smith , London , 1790 .

A small arched top Ebonised bracket clock with full brass dial .The dial with Strike/Silent to the arch , engraved and silvered dial center , fine blued steel hands and spandrels to decorate the corners with a polished dial back plate . The case with glazed sides , a polished brass handle to the top arch of the case , standing on bracket feet . The substantial  twin fusee movement on a verge escapement with a finely engraved back plate and the classic verge bob. A glazed rear door . There is William Smith of Old Street , London recorded and known to have worked from 1784. This clock would date to around 1790 .
