Porri and Co , London circa 1810

A ebony and box edge , mahogany, wheel Barometer with an 8" silvered barometer dial, encased in a cast bezel with little wood showing around . A silvered Thermometer scale with Mercury tube , the makers name Porri and Co , No 17 Great Queen street , London , who is recorded in the Barometer Makers book by Edwin Banfield - Vecchio Porri - circa 1810-30 . This Barometer would date to around 1810 and represents a fine example of classic London Regency Barometer making . Superb fan inlays and horizontal edge .
